It Started at a Daycamp
Programming daycamp. Visual Basic 6 was the thing. I watched a student wage what I can only describe as my first witnessed hacking war against the teacher.
That moment changed everything.
"Hacking Exposed" third edition - back when it was Foundstone, before McAfee - became my bible. I carried it everywhere. This is how the learning started: by breaking things, dissecting them, trying, failing, and ultimately succeeding.
AI didn't exist back then. Only endless nights searching Altavista or Copernic. Every answer had to be hunted down.

Forum moderator on Securityclan.ch at 13 years old. Writing French articles on the TCP stack.
This is what started the real passion. New flaws, new vulns. SQL injections and PHP include flaws were the big thing back then. Every system I crossed became a "Can I hack it?" puzzle.
Oh, and phreaking was still a thing. Custom phonesets I'd build myself - they'd always end up confiscated. But you learn fast when you have to rebuild your tools from scratch every time.
Never was a big fan of conventions and authority. That impacted my schooling - way too bright for a school bench and useless problems.
